Teeth Whitening in Quakertown, PA

Teeth whitening is a simple, effective cosmetic dental treatment that can enhance your smile in as little as one treatment. Our professional teeth whitening treatments utilize a powerful yet safe whitening gel applied to your teeth’ surface. This gel lightens the appearance of stains, discoloration, and yellowing on the tooth enamel.

Teeth whitening is often available in both in-office and take-home systems. Professional teeth whitening can give you a noticeably whiter smile that will boost your self-esteem and help you smile with pride.

KöR® Teeth Whitening

Patients can choose from home treatment or a combination of take-home and in-office treatment with KöR. KöR uses trays that seal out saliva. In other whitening treatments, saliva can decrease the effective ingredients of the whitening gel. Dr. Halle-Brown will take dental impressions to create custom trays.

KöR treatment begins with two weeks of at-home treatment using refrigerated whitening gel and trays. The gel is refrigerated to ensure that the active ingredients, including hydrogen peroxide, stay active.  Then, some patients may choose KöR treatment that involves in-office care. We will also recommend periodic maintenance to keep the teeth bright.

GLO™ Teeth Whitening

Take-home GLO teeth whitening treatment offers a convenient way for patients to whiten their smiles at home. We will provide patients with a take-home GLO kit, mouthpiece, lip care, and whitening gel.

Before treatment, make sure that the GLO device is fully charged. Then, press the button on the device and apply the lip care to your lips. Apply the whitening gel circularly on the teeth before your mouth. Press the button again to illuminate the mouthpiece. Insert the mouthpiece for 8 minutes. The device will blink when your session is almost complete and then beep when the session is complete. You can disconnect the mouthpiece and clean it after each session.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have answers to some of the most commonly asked questions concerning teeth whitening treatments.

Should I stop whitening my teeth if they are sensitive?

Yes, if your teeth become sensitive during whitening, it’s a good idea to stop temporarily. Sensitivity often subsides after a short break. Using toothpaste for sensitive teeth and consulting your dentist can help you continue whitening safely.

Does White Glo make your teeth sensitive?

White Glo offers whitening products designed for sensitive teeth, such as their Sensitive Relief Charcoal formula, which contains potassium nitrate to help reduce sensitivity. However, individual reactions can vary, and some may still experience discomfort. If this happens, stop using the product and consult our office.

How many shades lighter can my teeth become with professional whitening?

Professional teeth whitening can lighten your teeth by several shades, typically between 3 to 8 shades. It will depend on the method and your starting color. The results vary based on your teeth’s condition and the type of staining.

Will teeth whitening remove stains?

Yes, teeth whitening is effective at removing many surface and deep stains caused by food, drinks, or aging. However, it may not work on stains caused by internal issues or restorations like crowns or veneers. Your dentist can advise if whitening is right for your situation.

How long does KöR whitening last?

KöR whitening results typically last one to three years. It will depend on your lifestyle and oral hygiene. To keep the results, we recommend periodic touch-up treatments and avoiding heavy staining foods and drinks. Your personal habits, like coffee or wine consumption, will directly impact how long your bright smile stays vibrant.

Can I drink coffee while using KöR whitening?

It’s best to avoid coffee during the whitening process, as it can stain your teeth and diminish the results. If you do drink coffee, use a straw to minimize contact with your teeth, and rinse your mouth afterward to reduce staining.
